To my old best friends: I'm getting married
Posted on 04 January 2017
Have you ever sat back during an exciting event in your life and thought about all of the times you have chatted with numerous friends, best friends at that, about it? What that event was going to be like, how exciting it would be to have that friend there through everything with you? You know, because you were always going to be best friends and nothing would ever change that. Well, guess what? Life changes. People change. People grow up. People part ways. It may not have been a sad break to the friendship, you may not even remember why you're not friends anymore, you just simply grew apart. But, even though you've grown apart you still almost want to text them and tell them the exciting news, make plans with them so they can share the moment that you once planned so extravagantly (because that's what girls do) but you can't.
To my old best friends,
Well, some of you may have heard, I'm getting married! It's been almost four years since I got engaged and I finally get to plan my wedding! Remember when we would always talk about how we would be in eachother's weddings? We would always be there for eachother? Through thick and thin? Well, you're not here anymore, but it's ok. I understand that people grow apart. I understand that some people just part ways after a while. I wanted to text you and let you know the big news, but that's just weird since we haven't talked in a long time. I wanted to share my joy with you, because well, you are someone I once loved whole-heartedly and someone who was always there for me, because that's what best friends do.
At some point or another every friend is always there with you through at least one of your relationships. They are there with you while you cry, laugh, learn and grow.
Anyways, old best friends, I wanted to thank you for being there for me when you were. For being there while I grew into the person that I am today. I wanted to let you know that I will miss you being a part of my wedding. I will miss you not being there for all of the planning like we once planned. You will be there in spirit. I will be cheers-ing you. I hope that life is great for you and I hope that you are happy. Everyone deserves happiness, especially you.
